The Wedding - Forty Four

Julia's dress was finally finished. It was made of the finest silk. 

"You make a beautiful bride." Kristen told Julia. 

"Thank you your majesty, I can't wait til the wedding." she replied with a smile. 

"Your seamstress did a really good job on the dress. There will be none like it." Isabel told Kristen.

Julia was very sick. She had spent all morning throwing up in the bathroom. She was sure it was an illness that she was suffering from.

Julia's mom busted into the bathroom. 

"I know whats going on! What have you done?" she demanded as she yelled at her. 

"I don't know what you mean? I have done nothing." she replied anxiously. 

"I know the signs of pregnancy and you're with child! You have been sick for over a week straight, and in the mornings!" she exclaimed to her daughter.

"How could you be so wreckless?! We are so close to having you become queen and you do this!" Isabel thought for a moment, "Here's what you're going to do. Tell no one, and make sure you are with him on the wedding night. Then you can claim it as his. That will secure your position to the throne and maybe an heir, even though it's not his own. You're going to have to hide your condition as long as you can!" Isabel told Julia in a fierce voice, then left the room.

Julia told Derick to meet her in secret in the dungeon. As soon as she saw him, she began to cry. 

"Whats wrong?" he asked her concerned. 

"I don't know how to say this but....... I'm pregnant with your child." she whispered, not looking at him.

"Are you sure?" Derick asked, panic in his voice. 

"I'm sure, my mom told me I have all the signs of being with child. She also told me that I have to claim that the baby is James'! I don't love him, but I have to marry him. I have no choice." she explained.

Derick took Julia in his arms. 

"It will be ok, things will work out. I know we can't be together, but you know I love you and you have my heart. I will love this child from a distance and know that it's mine. We can still be together  in secret." Derick told her.

It was the big day. Julia got dressed in her wedding gown and prepared to leave for the chapel.

"Oh, you are stunning! This is your big day." Isabel told her daughter as she hugged her.

Kristen couldn't find James, so she headed to his room to see what he was doing. She found him passed out on his bed. 

"James! Get up you have to get ready for the wedding!" Kristen shouted at him.

He finally managed to get out of bed. He got dressed and was finally ready. His mom and dad went in to walk him down to the carriage to head towards the chapel. 

"You look stunning James." Kristen told him, as she adjusted his crown on his head.

Everyone was at the chapel and waiting for the bride to come down the aisle. Julia, in her silk dress, walked gracefully down the aisle to meet James at the alter.

She stood by him and all he could do was give his mom a sad look. She knew he didn't want to marry her and shot him a dirty look of disapproval.

They exchanged vows and rings in front of everyone. James put on a fake smile to hide his true feelings. All he wanted to do was run away.

"I now pronounce you man and wife. Now Prince James and Princess Julia." the priest announced.

After the wedding, a feast was thrown in their honor. They danced together as a couple in front of everyone. When the feast was over, they headed to their new room together.

James and Julia arrived in their new bedroom. James was dreading this moment and wanted nothing to do with it. He wanted to be with Amelia not Julia. He couldn't betray his true love.

James laid down beside Julia and for a long moment, tried to think of any way he could get out of the deed. 

He sat up abruptly. 

"I don't feel well. I need some air." he told her. 

Julia was a bit shocked to see that James was leaving without consummating the marriage. She, too, didn't want to be with him, but knew she needed to be with him once so that she could claim the child as his.
